Right on our doorstep a 5 minute trip away on the Passage East car ferry brings you directly to the the Hook Penninsula,home of the Hook Lighthouse, which has been described by the Lonely Planet Guide as "a little plump lighthouse, the grand-daddy of all lighthouses" and has been voted number one lighthouse in the world.
The Hook Lighthouse is also one of the oldest operational lighthouses in the world, the present structure dates back 800 years to the Medieval tower of Hook.
